Photo Op

But first a few items of business:

You can rest assured that A) Chris is feeling better and ran 8 miles in 45 minutes the other day just to prove it ;) and B) He forgave me.  Luckily most of my anger was internal and he rarely reads the blog, hah.  But seriously, if I have not said it before, let me say it now: Chris is one of THE MOST forgiving people I have ever met.  It's truly a blessed quality.

Next, I am 38 weeks today.  Keep in mind that 2 weeks ago, my regular doctor predicted a 2 week timeline for delivery (ahem, making that TODAY!!  But who's counting?).  The doctor whom I saw today, however, predicts that I am a long ways off.  She thinks that I will certainly make it to my due date if not longer. What? Seriously, all a girl is asking for is a little consistency, people.  Is that too much to ask?  Baby Lo (I am feeling out possible nicknames here) is also said to be about 7 - 7.5 pounds and is healthy and happy in there.

Finally, we took a few shots of the two of us (and baby, of course) the other day.  Early on, we decided that we were not going to get professional maternity photos.  We agreed to put the money towards our stroller, fixing up her room and a possible professional photo shoot once she arrives (although, now I am even re-considering that based on how these turned out).  And I was okay with the decision.  After all, would I really want shots of my belly up around the house to document how large I had become?

Well, at 37 weeks, I panicked and realized, that yes, I did!!  I began to worry about the "what if's".  What if she will want to see what she looked like 3 weeks pre-birth?  What if I never become pregnant again?  What if Chris manages to forget that I carried our child for 9 months in the middle of a heat wave summer?  Only kidding.  Anyways, our friend and neighbor (who is also due in October) all but pleaded with us to let her take some shots with her camera and it turned out to be just what we needed!

She took over 100 pictures and while there are SEVERAL that I have made her swear to never show anyone as long as she lives, there are also a few that I just love.

Chris had the idea for the Popsicles.  Little did I know, they would turn out to be my favorite shots.

I always think a little cropping can make the photo look a bit more creative.  Hey, we are amature's here!
A few bare belly shots for good measure.

Thank you Meghan!!

I did not have belly shots taken with Hudson and I sometimes regret that I did not. I will be doing it next time around. You look great and I think you will cherish the pictures for a lifetime. Hudson was 3 weeks early and the day before I went into labor my Dr. said I would go past my due date so he wanted to go ahead and schedule an induction since Hudson was measuring big. Little did we know that he had plans of his own and he came out a perfect and healthy 7 lbs. Praying for a easy delivery and a speedy recovery for you!

Seriously, still so in awe with how great these photos are- every time I look at them!

Here's hoping that you don't go 2 more weeks because 7-7.5 lbs is a good size!!

This is one time NOT to listen to those doctors! That little girl knows exactly when to come out, so as hard as it is, just try to relax and let it happen. I was SO sure that I would go late with Gabe, but he came two weeks early AND weighed 8.8 pounds! Then little Griffin was 5 days early and only 7.10. However it happens will be perfection!

...and I love those pictures! Too sweet.
