False Labor

Not the contraction kind mind you, but rather the kind that only one crazed pregnant woman can create.

I may have mentioned  a time or two that I am a planner.  By profession, by nature, by preference.  Take note:  We have had the car seat installed for almost a month.  My bags have been waiting by the front door for weeks.  I have a variety of meals waiting in the freezer for our return home.  I have made a long-ish "to do" list for when labor begins.  I have enough toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and personal hygiene items to last us a year - just in case we are never able to leave our house again.  I have 5 copies of our birth plan sealed and ready to go for hospital staff (and don't tell me it will never be read...)

So naturally, I also decided to DRAFT a text message to 20 of our closest friends that went something exactly like this:

LMK is on her way.  Will update soon.  Tiff went into labor a couple of hours ago.

All Chris had to do is press 'Send' to update our amigos when it was go-time.

And all I did?  Was press 'Send'.  Yesterday.  At work.  On accident.  To 20 people.  When I was NOT in labor.  At all.

Let's just say that I am still feeling the aftermath.  One can not reply fast enough to the mass of excited messages that followed.  While I am tickled to know how many people share our anticipation and enthusiasm for Logan's arrival, I am more than mortified that I a managed to cry wolf about labor.

In fact, I am still debating on what's worse?  The fact that I am the girl who sent such an important message in error or the fact that I am the girl who creates such text messages in her draft folder to begin with....

Needless to say, I hope this false labor incident turns into real labor sometime soon.  I need to be saved from myself!

Oh, Tiff, that's so funny! And so you. Great story to tell little Logan someday.

I will admit that I too drafted a text message to our family and a separate one for Russ in case he was at work when it happened. I love your story and agree that it's a great one for Logan. Happy last days of pregnancy!
