I love it. Still warm (actually pretty hot on some days) but with a crispness in the air that undoubtedly makes it a new season. I also love how it makes me get out and walk - just because I love to hear the crunchiness of the leaves... But, don't worry - just to make sure I don't get in too good of shape, I also love Fall food - like the festive Pumpkin Ale beers and rich soups; Butternut Squash Bisque, yum!
This weekend was a good one. On Friday we went to Beth's (my boss) house for a party. Had spicy green chili and enchiladas and some great wine. On Saturday, worked on the house again and then I went to Kari's with some girlfriends for her Birthday sleepover. This time sushi and lots of great wine. Sunday was one big headache....bleh. In fact, I think I'm on a wine hiatus for a while. Chris went biking on Sunday in preparation for his 24 hours of Moab race which he is doing with BJ, Rob and Thompson. They're renting an RV and taking it out to Moab where they'll do a relay bike race that is, well, 24 hours. A couple of the girls may go "cheer" them on, although I'm not sure making the trek to Utah and camping on the side of the road will be worth it for a split second view of them as they're riding by. On the other hand, I was thinking how funny it would be to make a sparkling pink poster board that says "Go Chris", just to embarrass him a bit....
So, we bought a new kitchen table that I am in love with from World Market and a new couch that fits much better in our family room. The only problem - we're afraid to sit in it. We have never made a big purchase like furniture...everything has been hand-me -downs, which has been great. No pressure! So instead we cover our new couch in blankets and wash our feet before we curl up on it - you know, just to "protect" it. I'm picking up scotch guard today to help ease our paranoia. Man, we're so domestic these days...I even picked out a few recipes that I am going to make for dinner in the next few days. And if you know me, you know that I have some pretty amazing cookware and cooking gadgets from my mom's store - I just don't know how to use any of it nor am I a very good cook. A work in progress if you will....a long one.
That's it for now - oh, and tonight's the night for new pictures. On my to-do list.
See ya - Tiff
PS- is someone reading this from Jenbach, Tirol? I see it on my little map thing to the right - Possibly one of my world traveler friends?? Hmm..
