We're enjoying this beautiful Sunday afternoon and watching the Bronco's game, but things aren't looking good for them with 3 minutes to go against Miami. Perhaps we can come back like Texas Tech in yesterday's game. Even though I fell asleep when we were watching the tivo recording at 11:00 last night, I do know Tech (the underdog) won with one second to go and it was an amazing come back. So, for my friend Kara and all the other Texas Tech fans, "Go Red Raiders, Get Your Guns Up"! We had a nice evening in Boulder watching Mark's band, Mestizo, play with our friends. If you have never heard them, I highly recommend giving them a listen. Every time we go to see them, I am more and more impressed. Check out www.mestizorocks.com.
In other happenings, we met mom and dad for breakfast this morning in old Littleton at Cafe Terracotta for my Dad's belated birthday. He and my mom spent last weekend in Tahoe and had a great time. It's definitely a place that I would love to visit sometime. It is on the looooong list of places we want to go and was recently added along with...get ready: Corning, Iowa. Yes, we promised Chris's Grandma, Murle, that we would go visit her in Corning one weekend to see the place where she was born and raised. She was in town this weekend for her 92nd birthday and we had a wonderful time seeing her and other members of the Leonard family. She is a sweetheart - and so funny too. Talk about something in the water - I want whatever is in that Iowa water! She still lives in her home, cooks, drives AND works at her local newspaper 1 day a week proof reading. She is an incredible little lady. Here we are in Longmont:
We also had a nice Halloween on Friday. It was our first year having trick-or-treaters and it was so cute to see the little ones in costume. After, we decided to meet up with some friends. Last minute decision late in the day which meant last minute costume planning. I was determined not to succumb to the costumes in a bag that are a bit, well, trashy. With that said, still wanted a cute one. I found the perfect one, thanks to Kate at elefantitas alegres and a little blog browsing at work on Friday afternoon. I saw her amazing ketchup idea and, vioula! The ketchup costume was born. It was very easy to make, but the best part? I now have a new holiday dress to wear! A cute little red number from my favorite place - Anthropology. And in case you're wondering, Chris did not complete the condiment theme by being Mustard or Relish, but at least he was not a basketball head (as mentioned in other posts)! Instead he was a Samari / Sushi Chef / Karate Kid. Turned out well. We celebratd the night with Joe the Plumber, Cleopatra, Lindsay the Lion, and Big Bird, which just might have been the most creative/funniest costume ever. I am bummed not to have a picture of it. I will have to try and round one up... Here we are in the meantime:
That's it for now. Hope everyone is well. XO, tiff and chris
