The reason why I am not yet ready to cook a turkey...
My mom e-mailed us a few days back with this and other amusing 'Old Lady Maxine' cartoons about Thanksgiving - this one was my favorite! So, besides not cooking much this Thanksgiving weekend, here is what else we will be up to:
-Running the Turkey Trot (although, I'm afraid I will be doing more 'dragging' than 'trotting') tomorrow morning. This might be the highlight of my day, however, as this is my first ever race!
-Going to Chris's parents where both of our families will be. We are bringing a pie and La Fole, an aged beer. Possibly my most favorite of the New Belgium Brews ~
-Might try and, Gasp.....hitthe11:00PMoutletmallsaleinCastleRockonThanksgiving. No judging please!
-Going to Steamboat with our friends Emily and Ben on Friday
-Going to Michael Franti and Spearhead on Saturday night
-Getting out Christmas cards and hopefully putting up lights
-And as for Sunday, I'm sure, trying to lose the 5 pounds I am bound to gain on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
And, while in the giving thanks spirit, I also wanted to share some of the things I have been most thankful for lately:
-My health
-My family
-My best friend, Chris. I love him so much. Really, what an amazing person he is.
-Our new house
-The Kampsnider's
-Our two brothers in the service, Pat and Mike. Did I tell you that my nephew, Cutter, made links for every day that Pat is in Afghanistan and hung them throughout his room. He takes one link down every morning getting one step closer to Papa coming home. There are more than 300 links! It really melts your heart.
-And, finally, the boots I purchased in Nashville. Yes, I am still in love with them
Happy Turkey Day!

Thanks,
