Good Morning

Well hello there early morning, it's been awhile...

I cannot remember the last time I was up willingly at 5:30am.

Do you want to know a little secret?  Logan almost never wakes up before 8:00am and often times not until closer to 9 o'clock every morning.  So, guess who else sleeps that late as well?  You guessed it.  This past Saturday Chris was almost appalled that we all slept until 9am (as opposed to his usual 5:00am) and asked if this was an every day occurrence for me.  Of course, I lied.

In my previous life, getting up early was my preference.  I loved waking up before the sun, getting in an occasional run, drinking coffee and watching the news before getting ready for work.  I felt so productive by the time I left the house at 8:00am.

And then came Logan.  And sleepless nights.  And a sleep pattern that was off the walls for a while.  I tried to maintain my early morning ritual so that I could get a few things done around the house before she woke up and as not to give up all of my alone time. And...that lasted all of about a week I am sure.

And then, I just got smart.  I finally took heed of the advice I had been given so many times before: Sleep when your baby(s) sleep.  And sleep I do.   Sometimes I even nap when Logan naps.  So, no.  I wouldn't say I am sleep deprived around here, that's for sure.  But I also know that time's a ticking before Baby #2 throws this whole sleep thing out the window, so I will feel no guilt these next several months, thankyouverymuch.

This morning I have big plans to finish up a few things for our first MOPS meeting of the year which I will miss due to being in CHICAGO!!  and then plan to finish up our itinerary for CHICAGO!!  and maybe finish packing up Logan for Grandma's before we head to CHICAGO!!

Chris and I leave for our anniversary / my birthday weekend bright and early tomorrow morning and I can't wait!  We have never been to Chi Town and can't wait to see what all of the hype is about.  Our days are full of good eats, good drinks (party of one, sigh) and plenty to see and do (a special thanks to SR for organizing my mess into days, neighborhoods, restaurants, etc).  My nails have been painted appropriately with OPI's 'Lincoln Park After Dark' and my suitcase is full of pre-Fall attire - boots included.  We are staying at The James Hotel off of Michigan Ave. and I am already relishing in the 500-count sheets and, er, sleeping in ;)

Have a great Wednesday.
