Just the two of us?

This has become one of my favorite pictures of the two of us:
Mostly because this face sums up my general attitude towards nearly every major event that occurs in my life (as you can see from our wedding day). Read:

A little bit of elation.

A little bit of comfort being with the man that I love.

A little bit of drama.

A little bit of excitement.

A little bit of love.

A little bit scared to death (if you look closely, I promise you can see a slight quiver in my lip)

A little bit of shock.

A whole lot of "what are we in for?" and "are we ready for this?"

And then there's Chris - ah, my better half - my more calm, sensible, clearly focused on the joy of the moment, other half. I love him for it.

And let me tell you, it's a good thing there's one of us who's that way. Because in t-minus 198 days (August 13th to spare you the math) we will be taken on the ride of our lives.

Baby K is on his/her way!!!

12 weeks and counting on his or her way, I might add. Apparently these bambinos don't slow down so that you can grasp their presence, reconcile your finances, drink your last glass (er, glasses) of wine, or take that month long trip to Africa (so what if I justlastweek decided that this was a must do?)

And so while it's bittersweet that, 'The Two of Us', is really no longer applicable to our little family (as I am reminded of daily, by my not so little belly), we are overjoyed. We are full of excitement and anticipation of our lives to come. We are still slightly in shock. We are most definitely scared to death. But, even more than all of that, we are blessed.

This has been a hard thing to keep secret as my thoughts have not stopped racing since the moment I took that life altering test at 1:30am at the beginning of December (which by the way, I thoughtfully spared you a picture of. Does it gross anyone else out to share the results of a pregnancy via a urine soaked stick?)

Anyhow, for those of you who were already privy to the news, THANK YOU for your love and support. It means the world to us.

Congratulations! I am so excited for you and Chris. Being a parent is the most amazing thing in the world and I know you will be a great mother. You will be in for a great ride.

My Mom's birthday is the 13th so it is a good day. Hudson was du August 6th but lucky for me he decided to make his debut a few weeks early.

Congrats to you! Believe me, when we found out we were pregnant we were scared to death (still are). Enjoy the ride and cherish the twosome time. We only have three weeks left of being "just us" and I already miss it but am also hopeful and excited to see that life can get even better.
