L & W's Shared Room: Third Edition

First Edition
Second Edition

In my opinion, I think I saved the best part of the "tour" for last.  I'm not sure if it was because it was new and required some creativity or because it was for a boy this time around, but regardless, I had the most fun decorating this space in the room!

The small alcove tucked behind the door in the front of the room provided the perfect small space to work with.  The biggest challenge was finding a crib that fit nicely, but once that was figured out it all came together.  A few people have said it feels like two separate rooms - which is kind of what I wanted, especially for Logan's sake - while still being somewhat cohesive.

Here is a before shot of the space so you have somewhat of an idea of what I was working with.  Unfortunately, it's the only picture I could find and was taken before Logan even came home from the hospital and it doesn't really showcase that corner of the room.  But, as you can see from the pictures, the space was mostly occupied by this armoir.  This piece has since been moved directly outside the room in the hallway and still acts as both of their closet's.

So, without further ado, here is the last space in the room belonging to "Baby Brother" as Logan would say...

More wooden garland flags from Botanic Botanic.

Another Pom Pom project.
The mustache mirror was a white elephant gift of all things during a Christmas party that I was happy to hang on to.  I knew it would look cute in here!

This 'Guy Stuff' tote bag was a gift from my sister before knowing if I was having a boy or girl.  She must have had a feeling :) I just think it's too cute not to display.

I found this chair at Home Goods for $40!  A steal compared to those of Pottery Barn Kids and such.  The Chevron rug was purchased from Overstock.com.  I planned to use it in the center of the room, but it was a bit too small and looked out of place.  I would have never thought to put it in this space if it weren't for my neighbor, Shannon's, advice.

One of the 3 Sprouts Storage bins I received at my shower.
These hold a ton and I was pleasantly surprised at how large they are!

The crib!  This is considered a 'mini crib' (not full size) and is meant for babies 0-12 months.
I figure once he is out of this, Logan will be well out of her crib and he can transition to hers.
I found this crib on Craigslist (score!) but it is the Grayson crib by Babyletto.
Mirrors were $1.25 each from Ikea.
The Turtle canvas (hard to see here) was a gift to Logan from my brother a couple of years ago.
It was the perfect color and I am so happy to be able to use it for Baby Boy.
The mobile was found on an end shelf at Target without the bag.  Guess how much I got it for?  $8.00!
How cute is this handmade bear?!  This was a gift for my shower and was purchased in Durango, CO.

The bedding.  Also the Aqua Diamond Print from Land of Nod.
If you have really been paying attention, you may have noticed how the crib bedding does not match the choices I presented in this post.  I changed my mind, again, at the last minute.  Cest la vie.

This growth chart was a labor of love (and an easy one at that).  Originally I was going to use it on the wall where the bookshelf is, but settled on this corner instead.
I would post a tutorial, but I have a feeling you can figure it out with a 6' piece of plywood, some paint, a ruler and a stencil for the numbers (or stickers, in my case).

It's no secret that I love displaying Letterpress every chance I can.  Makes for cheap and easy "art".
The hook was purchased from Anthropologie and this little "Petit Plume" onesie was purchased from a consignment store a couple of years back.  I knew that I had to have it for my second born, whenever that would be!
A birds eye view of the space from the back corner.

So, there you have it!  A His / Hers room to get us through the next year or two until one of them demands their own space, ha.  I love how things turned out now that it's done, can't picture it any other way!

Very beautiful room!

We are thinking of getting the Grayson crib for our baby-on-the-way. How do you like yours? What mattress would you recommend?

Hi CassieLynn, to tell you the truth Weston has been in his bassinet since coming home. We have put him down in the crib a few nights and all has gone well. Style wise and quality wise, though - we LOVE it! Such a great crib. We purchased it on Craigslist and the owner had a custom mattress made for it so I am not sure what we would have done otherwise. Would love to see pictures if you end up getting it!
